Missed the Best Part of the Party

So I have been WORKING MY ASS OFF to finish up the mandatories for the Phase III final portfolio. But it's done now, and we're on to the personal submissions. During the next three weeks I must shoot seven new images that follow the goals I set in my Career Business Plan, and a new self portrait. Oh boy... but it shouldn't be too difficult. We can use fellow Hallmark students for models again, which is nice.

It's definitely been a while since I updated though. >.< I actually have no remembrance of anything that happened the week prior to last. Kinda bad... because I'm almost certain important stuff happened. But oh well.

What I can tell you is that Ryszard Horowitz is an amazing photographer. Seriously check out his work. He can do things with film we only thought possible with Photoshop. Simply incredible.

Then we have this guest instructor I really don't like. Every time she speaks I feel like I'm being talked down to. I HATE that. She might be one of the main judges of our portfolios though, so I guess I'll have to deal with it and hold my tongue. Oi.

My sister was with me last week. That was interesting. Don't know that I'd bring her again though. As much as I love her, this was far too mature a situation for her. She wanted to have fun, and while we do have fun here, it wasn't her idea of fun. She just hasn't crossed that maturity bridge yet. Oh well.

That's about all that really sticks out in my mind from weeks prior.

This week so far, we've gotten our new schedules, and we are doing pet photography. Tarrin brought in her two pups, which are cockerdoos (mix between cockerspanials and poodles) and they are SO ADORABLE. Oh my goodness... I played with them during lunch. They're like walking teddy bears in the shape of puppies. x3 I wanted to take them home. ♥

But I totally missed the party this past weekend. In the mad rush of needed to finish things up, the school was open three days straight. People were literally sleeping on the floors. They went home briefly to get some food or clothes, and then returned. CRAZY. I cannot believe I missed it. But I had to bring my sister home, which was an adventure and and of itself.

See, we weren't in sync with the car, and ended up accidentally locking my keys inside. So with dying cell phones (mine died, and her's was going), I called Mom and Dad for the number to Triple A, and called them, and they came and got the keys out. It was supposed to be a 90 minute wait due to all the highway accidents in the snowstorm, but I told them we were stranded outside which sped things up. xD We really weren't because the nice elderly couple next door let us inside, but whatever. They didn't need to know that. So within 20 minutes they came and retrieved my keys.

Of course, that wasn't the end of it. I got off the Mass Pike one exit too soon, and we ended up temporarily lost in Albany. x'D I told Mia to get the map at her feet, and she was looking in the glove compartment, then she spilled her drink because I had to slam on the brakes for a last minute decision, and by the time she found my marks for getting home I had found my way back onto I90 West/I87 North. xD Oh well. It was an adventure... to me at least. Haha

But the weekend was peaceful, which was nice. And now I'm back in MA. The drive back was uneventful aside from the guy who tried to race me. Totally kicked his ass without doing more than 80mph. x3

So, I bet you want to see some of my work from that final. I get reviewed on it March 3rd at 3:40pm. WISH ME LUCK! >w<;
